July 7 – Capilla Real y Puesto del Sol (Sunset)
I finally got around to going to the Capilla Real where the Catholic Kings are buried. It amazes me that I pass by the Cathedral and the statue of Isabel La Catolica every single day on my way to school and then realize that that queen is buried right there by the Cathedral. The same queen who conquered Granada. It’s coolness. :P
After tutorials, we went to El Mirador de San Nicolas to watch the sunset from the Albaicin. It has an amazing view of the Alhambra. When the sun was setting, we realized that we couldn’t really see the sunset because it was to our 3 o’clock if we were facing the Alhambra. So we set out walking around Albaicin to look for a place where we could see the sunset. It was then when we came upon these walls. Omg. We climbed these 8 foot walls. I was scared shitless. I couldn’t stand up on top of it. I never knew I had a fear of heights. Maybe I don’t but I was just really scared then. Breanna and Amanda on either side of me were stomping, dancing, and shaking their butts and I could barely stand normally to take one picture. LOL. Anyway, the view was great and that’s all that matters.
